NASLR Quarterly Newsletters October 2007 July 2007 April 2007 January 2007 October 2006 July 2006 April 2006 January 2006 October 2005 July 2005 April 2005 January 2005 October 2004 July 2004 April 2004 January 2004 July 2003 April 2003 January 2003 Information and Articles for NASLR Quarterly Newsletter As we begin this year with a new board, it is time to request your assistance with the quarterly NASLR newsletter. Newsletters are the lifeblood of organizations that meet only once or twice a year as we do. In order to sustain interest in the organization and communicate issues and information to our members (and potential members), we each need to be actively involved in submitting articles and other newsworthy items for publication. In many cases, it may be an article on reclamation research or a summary of proposed reclamation legislation that will attract the interest of a state official, industry representative or university professor. As you know, the NASLR newsletter is published in October, January, April (sometimes May) and July of each business year. Articles are due to Anna Harrington at the Coal Research Center by the 30th of the preceding month. The newsletter is then compiled and mailed by the end of the publication month. We have assigned states to each of the four newsletters with the designated states being featured during that particular quarter. Other than the president's column and other board reports, the states listed below will be primarily responsible for newsletter articles, notices of interest, reprints of publications, etc.:
As the state representative(s), we are requesting that you accept the responsibility of submitting at least two (2) articles for the newsletter during your state's designated quarter. Of course, other states or individuals that have information to be included in the newsletter are encouraged to do so. Our hope is that this procedure will continue to provide quality information for the newsletter from each of the member states (and Ontario) as the year progresses, while reducing the burden on any one state or individual. If you have any questions about the newsletter or any suggestions concerning NASLR, please do not hesitate to contact NASLR. Return to NASLR Home Page |
